Some changes made in v3 (since v2)
  • The Supplement, Supplement Review and UCR Clerk programs were removed.
  • The Arrest, Arrest Review, Offense, Offense Review, Query, and Reports programs were united under what was the Offense program, allowing you to access all the programs by logging in only once.
  • You can now search arrest/offense records by either case number or name

Programs - There are now only 3 program menu icons for the I/O Program:

  • Offense - opens the other programs and tools menu (see below)
  • Place Update - add to database of frequently used locations for arrest/offense
  • Upload - upload data from diskette to primary database

The "Offense" program now includes the other remaining programs and accesses them using the master menu, which contains the following options:

Open

  • Arrest - add/update/view arrest report data
  • Arrest Review - update/view arrest data which has not been approved
  • Offense - add/update/view offense report data
  • Offense Review - update/view offense data which has not been approved
  • Query - search for data based on specified criteria
  • Reports - view reports based on specified criteria

Tools - options allowing user to do things such as backup the databases:

  • Create ACJIC Diskette - creates diskette to send to ACJIC
  • Backup - creates a backup of the databases
  • Restore Databases - restores databases to status as of most recent backup
  • Compact Databases - eliminates wasted space (useful only if multiple records have been deleted from databases)
  • Repair Databases - attempts to repair minor errors if database isn't working
  • LAPTOPS ONLY - Upload to Server - copies database to diskette for upload to primary database
  • LAPTOPS ONLY - Remove Records - removes all records from the computer (for laptops, etc. after upload)

Exit - exit the program

The "Review" programs function much the same as the associated main programs, with two differences:

  • The main programs allow adding of records while the reviews do not
  • The review program only shows records not yet approved by a supervisor

The "Reports" program allows you to print any of various reports based on criteria specified as you choose a report. The reports available are:

Arrest

  • Age and Race - displays record counts by race and age over a specified date range
  • By Classification - displays records belonging to a NCIC code group (such as 1300s)

Offense

  • Victim Case Number by Classification - displays case numbers belonging to a NCIC code group during a specified date range
  • Property Totals - displays property totals for a specified date range
  • Open Cases - displays open cases for a specified date range
  • Counts by Classification - displays offenses by classification for a specific date range

Case Number

  • Displays arrest and offense records with a specified case number
